Commanders-focused show to stream free to fans on Monumental Sports Network app following games
Washington, D.C. (September 4, 2024) – Monumental Sports Network (MNMT) unveiled today that Beltway Football – the network’s Washington Commanders video podcast presented by MGM National Harbor – will stream a special postgame episode live on the MNMT app following Commanders games during the 2024 season.
Returning for its second season, Beltway Football features the dynamic duo of JP Finlay, noted D.C. sports reporter who can be heard and seen locally on 106.7 The Fan and NBC 4 WRC, and Mitch Tischler, Monumental Sports Network’s operations manager and co-host of Beltway Football who has covered the Commanders for 15 years.
“Monumental Sports Network is home to the most engaging and wide-ranging D.C. sports coverage and we are proud to expand our Commanders content by offering a Beltway Football postgame show,” said Friday Abernethy, General Manager, Monumental Sports Network. “This new format will provide near-immediate analysis for fans, as JP and Mitch analyze every defining moment from that day’s game. We can’t wait for fans to check it out after Sunday’s game.”
The new postgame show, which will be free and available to all fans on the Monumental Sports Network app, will debut following the Commanders season opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, September 8 and will stream after all games with a 1:00, 4:00, or 4:25 PM kickoff. Throughout the season, the show will be filmed at the site of that week’s Commanders game and will begin approximately two hours after the final whistle, allowing the hosts to get reactions from players and coaches.
The podcast will also continue to occupy its usual 10:00 AM Saturday timeslot on Monumental Sports Network’s air (re-airing at 10:00 AM Sunday), discussing the biggest topics around the Commanders with a fresh and engaging perspective on football around the nation’s capital.
While the live postgame show will be exclusively available on the Monumental Sports Network app, fans will be able to watch recordings of the show via Monumental’s digital streaming platform within the network’s footprint and can listen to the show recorded as a podcast via all major podcast platforms. Beltway Football’s Saturday morning show will be available both on linear tv and the digital platform to fans with a Pay TV subscription. Fans can watch the broadcast through their cable provider, at monumentalsportsnetwork.com/beltway-football, or by downloading the Monumental streaming app on iOS, Android, Apple TV, Roku, and Amazon Fire TV and using an eligible TV Everywhere log-in.
Monumental Sports Network will have a robust lineup of DMV-area football coverage during the 2024 season. In addition to Beltway Football, By the Book – MNMT’s sports betting show and podcast – will move to a football-focused format and continue to air at 5:30 PM every weekday through the Super Bowl (with an immediate re-air at 6 PM). Last month, MNMT announced partnerships with area schools University of Richmond and Towson University, as well as HBCU GO, to air a full slate of college football games during the upcoming season. Monumental’s 2024 college football schedule features 19 games – the most in network history – including 15 games featuring Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and matchups with local schools like William & Mary, Virginia Union, and Morgan State.
