Washington, D.C. (September 19, 2024) Monumental Sports Network (MNMT) is proud to announce that the network will air the fourth annual “Truth and Service Classic” football game between Howard University and Hampton University on Saturday, September 21 at 4 PM. This year’s game, which will be played at Audi Field in Washington, D.C., will be the latest chapter in a storied rivalry between two of the nation’s prominent Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), known as the “Battle for the Real HU.” Monumental’s game broadcast will be presented by Victoria’s Secret PINK.

“We are immensely excited to broadcast this historic rivalry game on our network, adding to our already robust slate of HBCU games this season,” said Friday Abernethy, General Manager of Monumental Sports Network. “Both Howard and Hampton have extremely strong alumni bases in the DMV region, and we’re excited to offer alumni and fans a chance to watch Saturday’s game for free – providing an opportunity for these high-level HBCU athletes to showcase their abilities on a major platform.”

More than three million households in the network’s coverage area can watch this highly anticipated game on MNMT on Saturday. “I am excited to watch the Hampton University Pirates face off against our esteemed HBCU counterpart, the Howard University Bison, in the Truth and Service Classic,” said Hampton University President Darrell K. Williams. “The energy and excitement surrounding this game reflect the very best of what our institutions stand for—academic rigor, community service, and enduring school pride. The entire Hampton University family is eager to watch our fighting Pirate football team and the incomparable Marching Force showcase their excellence at Audi Field. Go Pirates!”
