Effective Tuesday, February 15, patrons attending Capitals and Wizards games at Capital One Arena will no longer be required to verify their vaccination status.

Effective Tuesday, March 1, patrons attending Capitals and Wizards at Capital One Arena will no longer required to wear masks while attending events.

Guests will be notified about specific protocols required to attend games/events in-person at the time of purchasing tickets, or will receive updated information from the event promoter if requirements evolve. 
 

We ask you to carefully read and review the information below before attending an event at Capital One Arena.

Monumental Sports & Entertainment highly recommends the continued use of face masks to help protect against COVID-19.

And a friendly reminder: if you are feeling sick or experiencing any symptoms, we kindly ask that you stay home. Thanks for doing your part to keep us all safe.

We are monitoring the latest regarding the COVID-19 virus and variants and remain in close contact with local and federal health officials. We ask that you continue to check this site or follow us on social media for any updated information on health and safety protocols for Capital One Arena events.

Each game ticket will be provided in a digital format and will also contain standard “ticket-back” terms, including health and safety requirements (to which each patron attending an event at Capital One Arena shall be subject).

Parking for events at Capital One Arena is open only to those with parking passes for the event.

Our partners at Spot Hero have a network of nearby parking garages available via the Spot Hero app, available both for Apple iOS and Android.

Our entire security screening process is touchless. As a reminder, no bags are allowed at Capital One Arena. Please review our current bag policy.

Bags

Bags, backpacks and purses will not be permitted inside the Arena. Wallet-size clutches no larger than 5″ x 7″ and medical bags and parenting bags no larger than 14″ x 14″ x 6″ will be permitted. All bags permitted are subject to security screening.

A Bag Check is now available for patrons whose bags do not meet the above requirements.  The Bag Check is located near the corner of 6th and F Street.  Space is limited and a fee of $15 per bag will apply.

If you are bringing a medical or parenting bag, please use the entrance on 6th Street near the corner of F Street.

Enhanced Cleaning

Enhanced Cleaning

Enhanced arena cleaning and disinfecting procedures at Capital One Arena focus on high-touch surfaces (door handles, elevator buttons, escalator railings, etc), restrooms, eating tables, and within the seating bowl.  These enhanced cleaning procedures, intended to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19, have been informed by current CDC guidance, global industry best practices, industry experts and our valued partners.

High touch surfaces and heavily trafficked areas within Capital One Arena will be regularly cleaned and disinfected throughout events by our Clorox Clean Team.  After every event, all spaces and seating areas will go through an additional rigorous disinfection process, using a full suite of best-in-class cleaning and disinfecting products from our partners, Clorox, Libman and Daycon.

Restrooms will be sanitized and cleaned frequently. Some stalls, urinals and sinks may be closed to facilitate physical distancing. Guests must wash their hands before returning to their seats.

Capital One Arena is outfitted with MERV-13 filtration, which exceeds suggested minimum guidelines. As an additional protective measure, we have tested and balanced the entire Arena ventilation system to ensure maximum number of air exchanges in all occupied spaces.

Capital One Arena has achieved Global Biorisk Advisory Council® (GBAC) STAR™ accreditation, the gold standard for prepared facilities. Under the guidance of GBAC, a Division of ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association, Capital One Arena has implemented stringent protocols for cleaning, disinfection and infectious disease prevention in its facility.

Using contactless payment is a fast, safe, and secure way to pay! Pay with your Capital One card, any major debit or credit card, or Apple Pay for any food in Capital One Arena. All concession stands have cashless/no-touch options for payment through smartphone apps and credit card payments.

Capital One cardholders receive 10% off their food and beverage and 20% off their merchandise purchases when they present and use a Capital One credit or debit card at checkout.
