Virginia and Arkansas to Square Off in the Capital Showcase

Princeton, N.J. (August 21, 2026) – The Gazelle Group is pleased to announce the Capital Showcase will feature the Virginia Cavaliers and the Arkansas Razorbacks on Sunday, November 8th, 2026. The game will tip off at 1:00pm ET and will be televised nationally on ESPN. The Capital Showcase will again be held at Capital One Arena in the heart of downtown Washington, D.C. Capital One Arena hosted the 2025-26 Edward Jones Capital Showcase earlier this year – one of the highest-attended neutral site NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball games in venue history – as well as games in the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 rounds of the 2026 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament.

Public sale will begin Friday, September 4. For early access to tickets before the public sale, sign up for email updates here.

This game will mark the eighth meeting between the Hoos and the Razorbacks. Virginia leads the all-time series 4-3, with the teams last meeting in 1998, when Arkansas secured an 85-83 victory. Two of their meetings came in the NCAA Tournament, where they are tied 1-1.

Virginia finished last season 30–6, earning an at-large bid after reaching the ACC Tournament championship game and returning to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2024.

The Razorbacks finished 28–9, capturing the SEC Tournament championship and reaching the Sweet 16 for the second straight season under John Calipari.

ESPN has both programs entering the season as preseason top-15 teams, with Arkansas ranked No. 10 and Virginia No. 13 nationally.
