Beginning at 12 p.m. ET on Monday, July 6, Ovechkin will hold a virtual media availability to discuss his decision to return for a 22nd NHL season, making him the longest-tenured athlete in Washington, D.C. sports history. Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE) Founder, Chairman, Managing Partner and CEO Ted Leonsis, Capitals President of Hockey Operations Brian MacLellan and Capitals General Manager Chris Patrick will join Ovechkin from MNMT’s award-winning Vanda Pharmaceuticals Studios in Washington D.C. alongside Capitals television announcer Joe Beninati and color analyst Craig Laughlin, who will guide media and viewers through the historic announcement.
