Traffic Alert: National Christmas Tree Lighting May Impact Fans Traveling to Washington Wizards Game on Thursday

Washington, D.C. (December 4, 2025) – Fans driving to the Washington Wizards game against the Boston Celtics tonight at Capital One Arena are advised to allow extra travel time and consider alternative routes due to the 103rd National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. Tipoff is scheduled for this evening at 7:00 p.m.

The Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has announced that there will be parking restrictions and street closures that motorists should take into consideration throughout the day. A complete list of Thursday’s road closures can be found HERE.
