C-SPAN and FanDuel Sports Network to simulcast CWSG, bringing widespread visibility to bipartisan charitable event
Washington, D.C. (July 10, 2025) – Fans across the country will have the opportunity to tune in to the 17th Annual Congressional Women’s Softball Game (CWSG), thanks to a national simulcast of the Monumental Sports Network (MNMT) broadcast on both C-SPAN and FanDuel Sports Network. The bipartisan event, benefiting the Young Survival Coalition (YSC), will take place at 7:35 p.m. ET on Wednesday, July 16 at Audi Field in Washington, D.C., with the broadcast beginning at 7:00 PM ET.
“We are so excited that the Congressional Women’s Softball Game and our mission to strike out breast cancer will be showcased locally on Monumental Sports Network and broadcast nationally through C-SPAN and FanDuel Sports Network this year,” said Atalie Ebersole, President of CWSG. “Increasing awareness of the vital work that the Young Survival Coalition does is our highest priority, and we are grateful for the opportunity to share their story with an even broader audience.”
C-SPAN, available in more than 50 million pay TV households nationwide, and FanDuel Sports Network, a local sports media platform with 15 owned-and-operated networks across the country, will simulcast MNMT’s full coverage of the game. This expanded distribution means viewers from coast to coast will have unprecedented access to the CWSG. The partnership marks a major milestone for the event, ensuring this unique blend of politics, sports, and philanthropy reaches its largest national audience to date.
“We’re thrilled that our broadcast of the Congressional Women’s Softball Game will reach a national audience for the first time through our partnership with C-SPAN and FanDuel Sports Network,” said Zach Leonsis, President of Media & New Enterprises at Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE). “It’s an honor to support this meaningful event that blends the power of sports with a vital cause—raising awareness and funds for young adults affected by breast cancer.”
Fans in the D.C. area interested in watching the game on MNMT can view the live broadcast through their Pay TV subscription, on monumentalplus.com, or by downloading the state-of-the-art Monumental+ app on iOS, Android, Apple TV, Roku, Vizio, LG, and Amazon Fire TV and using an eligible TV Everywhere log-in or signing up for an MNMT membership.
For fans who live in FanDuel Sports Network regions, the broadcast can be accessed through Pay TV subscriptions, fanduelsportsnetwork.com, and on the FanDuel Sports Network app. The app is available for download across iOS, Amazon Prime Video, Android, Apple TV, Chromecast, Fire TV, Roku, Samsung, Xbox, X1, and Xfinity Xumo.
“We’re incredibly proud to partner with Monumental Sports Network, C-SPAN, and the Congressional Women’s Softball Game to help bring increased awareness to such an important cause,” said David Preschlack, CEO of Main Street Sports Group, owner of FanDuel Sports Network. “At its heart, this game is about people coming together for a cause and for something bigger than sports.”
C-SPAN is planning to air the game live on C-SPAN or C-SPAN2, pending the July 16 congressional schedule. Otherwise, C-SPAN will stream the game live on its digital platforms, with a televised airing to follow. Final C-SPAN broadcast plans will be announced closer to the event.
“C-SPAN is always eager to present uniquely Washington events to our politically engaged audience,” added Howard Mortman, C-SPAN Communications Director. “We actively seek opportunities to go behind the scenes and showcase politicians in non-traditional settings. Thank you, Monumental Sports, for providing professional television coverage of this year’s Congressional Women’s Softball Game—and for partnering with C-SPAN to bring this spirited, bipartisan tradition to viewers across the nation.”
This year marks the first time Monumental Sports Network— the local rights holder for the Washington Capitals, Wizards, and Mystics—will broadcast the game. MNMT’s coverage will include a full broadcast team, headlined by Capitals play-by-play announcer Joe Beninati. MNMT’s Chris Cillizza will also join the coverage, bringing his signature perspective from Politics Aside with Chris Cillizza, a new MNMT show exploring the intersection of sports and politics.
The CWSG brings together women Members of Congress and the women of the Washington, D.C. press corps for a spirited game that has become a summer tradition on Capitol Hill. More than just a fun evening, the game raises critical funds and awareness for the Young Survival Coalition, supporting young adults affected by breast cancer and promoting early detection.

About the CWSG
The Congressional Women’s Softball Game began in 2009 with captains Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL), Rep. Jo Ann Emerson (R-MO), Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) and Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME). In 2010, the Member Team asked the women of the Washington, D.C. press corps to join the game as their opponent and a lasting rivalry was born. Preceding the 17th annual game, the Congressional Women’s Softball Game has now raised $4.3M for the Young Survival Coalition (YSC) since the Game began and has become a staple of Capitol Hill summer activities.
