Monumental Sports & Entertainment and SportTechie have announced the Sports Capital Symposium – a two-day event for professionals in the global sports industry – Sept. 17-18, 2020 at the MGM National Harbor.

Together, Monumental and SportTechie will organize executives and thought leaders to discuss the most important trends in the sports industry. The Sports Capital Symposium will provide a platform for leagues, teams, partners, vendors, innovators and investors to come together and share big ideas while building meaningful relationships.

“At Monumental, we pride ourselves on being one of the most innovative organizations in the sports and entertainment industry,” Zach Leonsis, Senior Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at Monumental Sports & Entertainment, said. “We are excited to collaborate with our incredible partners at SportTechie, who continue to push the envelope in media by delivering compelling storylines and by assembling a myriad of talented speakers with backgrounds ranging from politics to media to esports at insightful events like the Sports Capital Symposium. We look forward to hosting enlightening, engaging and educational discussions and debates in the most powerful city in the world with some of the best and the brightest in the industry.”

The annual conference will focus on new revenue models and investment opportunities, including esports, sports betting and sports content gamification. Set against the nation’s capital as a backdrop, the conference will have a D.C. flair and include discussions about the impact that politics and government policies have on sports innovation and technology, as well as investment trends and forecasting.

“From the Capitals in hockey to the Mystics and Wizards in basketball to Team Liquid in esports, Monumental Sports & Entertainment is one of a handful of organizations truly on the cusp of the next chapter in sports innovation,” said SportTechie CEO Taylor Bloom. “We’re honored to partner with them for the Sports Capital Symposium, and excited to bring the industry together for this event.
