Monumental Sports Network Unveils Enhanced Monumental+ User Experience

Elevated M+ Streaming App Experience Includes State-of-the-Art Features like Advanced Play Control, Spoiler Control, Monumental Vertical Moments and More as the 2026-27 Capitals and Wizards Seasons Are Underway

Upgraded App Delivers Stronger Reliability, Easier Content Discovery and a More Consistent Streaming Experience Across Devices

WASHINGTON, D.C. (November 3, 2026) – Monumental Sports Network (MNMT), the exclusive local media rights holder for the NHL’s Washington Capitals, NBA’s Washington Wizards and WNBA’s Washington Mystics, today announced a series of enhancements to its award-winning streaming app, Monumental+ (M+), reflecting the network’s continued investment in building for the future of local sports across the DMV region.

Shaped directly by fan and subscriber feedback, the enhanced M+ experience introduces new viewing, discovery and personalization features designed around how fans want to follow live sports. Together, these improvements give viewers greater control to tune in live, catch up on their own schedule, discover relevant programming and engage with more than 500 live games annually, original content and DMV sports coverage across the platform.

Alongside the new features, over the past 12 months, MNMT has strengthened the reliability and consistency of M+ across devices. The revamped platform has delivered:

– 100% digital uptime since the start of the 2026-27 preseason, with no streaming service outages and a 99% crash-free report across all devices for a more reliable viewing experience.

– Faster site performance and improved search help fans get to the action sooner, with a 90% content discoverability rating based on SEO indexing.

– A more consistent experience across mobile and connected TV devices gives fans greater flexibility to watch how they choose.

– All these improvements have helped reduce the number of subscribers contacting customer support by approximately 67% year-over-year.

“Our goal is simple: make it as easy as possible for fans to watch the teams and sports they love, wherever and however they choose,” said Friday Abernethy, General Manager of MNMT. “We’ve heard directly from fans and subscribers about what they want from M+, and our team has worked tirelessly to turn that feedback into meaningful improvements across the platform. By continuing to invest in the experience itself, we’re giving fans more choice, more flexibility and more ways to connect with more local sports in one destination than any other outlet in the DMV.”

That fan feedback helped shape a range of enhancements that give viewers greater control over how they watch and discover programming.

New M+ features include:

– Advanced Play Control: One of the platform’s most requested features, Advanced Play Control allows fans to join a live broadcast, resume where they left off or start from the beginning — providing greater flexibility for those tuning in late to a Capitals, Wizards or Mystics game, or MNMT’s 24/7 live stream.

– Spoiler Control: Developed directly in response to fan feedback, Spoiler Control allows users to hide scores, game clocks and standings while navigating M+, helping preserve the excitement for fans watching games on delay.

– Monumental Moments: A mobile-first vertical video feed featuring game highlights, behind-the-scenes access, player interviews and memorable moments from across the Capitals, Wizards, Mystics, Capital City Go-Go and the broader DMV sports landscape.

– Enhanced Content Discovery: Improved search, curated collections, trending content and visual badges make it easier to find live games, replays, highlights, articles, classic games and original programming.

– Podcast Hub: A centralized destination for MNMT’s growing lineup of original audio and video podcasts, including Off the Bench, The Hockey Lifers, Beltway Football, Caps Rink Report and District of Basketball.

Additional enhancements include an AI-powered Fan Assistant, redesigned Scores, Schedules & Standings sections, a unified cross-league experience and more flexible mobile payment options.

Surging Viewership

MNMT is delivering strong audience momentum to start the 2026–27 season:

Wizards

– The Wizards season opener (Oct. 21 vs. Milwaukee) was the most streamed Wizards game ever on M+ and most watched Wizards game on linear tv dating back to at least the 2022-23 season.*

– Linear viewership increased 285% compared to last season’s opener (P2+).**

Capitals

– Streaming viewership for the Capitals on M+ has increased 48% year-over-year through the team’s first nine games of the 2026-27 season.*

– MNMT has seen an 83% increase in linear viewership year-over-year through the Capitals first nine games (P25-54).**

More Ways Than Ever to Access M+

Live Capitals, Wizards, and Mystics games and other MNMT programming is available to fans through a variety of platforms, including traditional cable and satellite TV providers, streaming platforms and direct-to-consumer offerings. MNMT continues to actively explore additional ways to make its programming available to even more fans, wherever and however they prefer to watch.

Fans can tune into MNMT using their TV provider or TV Everywhere log-in or by signing up for an M+ subscription and accessing the app. Available platforms include:

MNMT provides fans access to more than 500 live games annually — more than any other local network in the DMV—and continues to expand its original and shoulder programming. Beyond live games, the network delivers live pre- and postgame coverage, documentaries, behind-the-scenes series, podcasts, highlights and other original content across linear television and M+.

MNMT’s continued investment in best-in-class sports coverage has earned significant industry recognition in 2026. The network was named Sports Media Platform of the Year at the Cynopsis Sports Media Awards in June and received a record 14 Capital Emmy Awards, including Overall Excellence and Sports Excellence, recognizing the strength of MNMT’s live sports production, original programming, storytelling and on-air talent. The latest honors bring MNMT’s total to 40 Capital Emmy Awards since Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE) acquired the network in 2022.

Together, these enhancements represent the next step in MNMT’s continued investment in a fan-first local sports experience — one built to make it easier to find, follow and engage with the teams, games and programming that matter most across the DMV.
