Monumental Sports & Entertainment Announces Leadership Structure for Next Phase of Growth

Zach Leonsis named President and Vice Chairman as MSE strengthens leadership structure across growing enterprise

Washington, D.C. (September 15, 2026) – Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE) today announced a planned evolution of its leadership structure designed to support the company’s continued growth and further strengthen alignment across its sports, media and venue businesses.

As part of the new structure, Zach Leonsis has been named President and Vice Chairman of MSE, a newly created position in which he will oversee financial operations, infrastructure and technology, venues and media businesses. Leonsis previously served as President of Media & New Enterprises and will continue to work closely with MSE Founder, Chairman, Managing Partner and Chief Executive Officer Ted Leonsis.

Ted Leonsis remains controlling owner and serves on the Board of Governors for the NBA, NHL and WNBA. He is also Chairman of the NBA Media Committee. In his role, he will continue leading the company and setting its long-term strategic vision, and maintain sole decision-making authority for the teams.

“Monumental has grown significantly in both scale and complexity, and our leadership structure must continue to evolve with the business,” said Ted Leonsis, Founder, Chairman, Principal Partner and CEO of MSE. “Zach has played an integral role in building Monumental into the platform it is today, and this expanded role reflects both his leadership and the increasing integration of our businesses. I have tremendous confidence in Zach and our entire leadership team as we continue to execute against our long-term vision.”

As President and Vice Chairman, Zach Leonsis will have expanded responsibility for driving coordination and execution across the enterprise, with a focus on ensuring MSE’s businesses operate with shared priorities and continue to deliver for fans, partners and the communities the company serves. Zach will remain Alternate Governor for the Washington Wizards on the NBA Board of Governors and for the Washington Mystics on the WNBA Board of Governors, while continuing his service on the media committees of the WNBA and NBA G League.

“This is an incredibly important moment for Monumental, and I’m excited about the opportunity to help lead the company through its next phase of growth,” said Zach Leonsis, President and Vice Chairman of MSE. “We have exceptional leaders and teams across the organization, and will continue to focus on raising the bar for how we serve our fans and the entire DMV community. I’m grateful for the senior leadership team’s trust and look forward to working alongside them as we build on the momentum across Monumental.”

As part of the transition, Grant Hastings, who has held the position of MSE’s Senior Vice President of New Enterprises, will assume the role of Chief Financial Officer. Steve Miller, who joined MSE in September 2025 and has served as our Chief Financial Officer for the past year, is leaving the company for personal reasons. Miller will continue to support the company in an advisory capacity through the end of 2026 to help ensure a smooth transition.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to take on this role at such an important moment for Monumental,” said Grant Hastings, Chief Financial Officer of MSE. “We have tremendous momentum across the organization and a strong foundation for continued growth. I look forward to working with Ted, Zach and our leadership team to build on that foundation and maintain the financial discipline and strong corporate practices we have established across the organization.”

Additionally, Jordan Silberman, President of Venues, will take on additional responsibilities within the company and will report to Zach. Jordan’s role will expand to oversee MSE infrastructure, inclusive of venues and technology. MSE’s Chief Technology Officer, Charlie Myers, and the technology team will report into Jordan. These changes will enable MSE to more effectively integrate the digital and physical experiences we deliver to our fans.

Overall, these leadership changes reflect the strength of MSE’s long-term succession planning and the depth of talent across the organization, positioning the company for continued growth.
