Washington, D.C. (June 12, 2026) – Monumental Sports Network (MNMT) will broadcast the third annual Stanley Pup, a 90-minute special program featuring friendly canine competition, on Monday, June 15 at 7:00 PM ET. Produced in partnership with Michael Levitt Productions, NHL Productions and Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE), Stanley Pup returns to celebrate the 2026 Stanley Cup® Final with an irresistible lineup of adoptable puppies, heartwarming stories and hockey-inspired competition.
To celebrate the partnership and broadcast, Monumental Sports Network will host a special watch party in partnership with shelter partner Brandywine Valley SPCfA (Washington, D.C.) at MedStar Capitals Iceplex on Monday, June 15. The event will begin at 6:00 PM with the special airing at 7:00 PM. Fans can RSVP here to watch the special and meet adoptable animals on-site.
As a production partner for Stanley Pup, MSE—led by executive producers on the project Jim Kowats (MSE Senior Vice President, Productions) and Aimée Brillhart (MSE Vice President, Productions)—managed the end-to-end production process, capturing every tail wag, tug-of-war and shot on goal before bringing the competition into post-production. The team transformed hours of footage into an engaging and heartwarming showcase of the adoptable pups’ athleticism, personality, skills and undeniable charm. Stanley Pup premiered on June 8 on truTV and simulcast on HBO Max in the U.S. and on Sportsnet in Canada.
“Stanley Pup highlights the power of original content to entertain, engage and make a meaningful impact,” said Aimée Brillhart, Vice President of Productions at MSE. “From concept to production and national distribution, our team is proud to bring this event to life alongside the NHL and Brandywine Valley SPCA. Combining the excitement of hockey with plenty of puppy personality and charm, we’re able to deliver a one-of-a-kind viewing experience through Monumental Sports Network and our broadcast partners while helping shine a spotlight on pet adoption and animal rescue locally and nationwide.”
Local fans will recognize familiar faces throughout the special, including Washington Capitals’ goaltender Logan Thompson as he introduces adoptable pup Logan Chompson and MNMT’s Alexa Landestoy reporting rinkside. The full production features celebrity dog lovers and advocates, including comedian and SNL star Kenan Thompson as a celebrity coach; legendary broadcaster Doc Emrick; and NHL Players Devin Cooley (Calgary Flames), Seth Jarvis (Carolina Hurricanes), and Will Smith (San Jose Sharks).
Monday evening’s broadcast on MNMT and subsequent airings will be available to fans both on linear tv and via streaming platforms within the network’s footprint, stretching from Delaware to Richmond. Fans can watch the broadcast through their Pay TV subscription, on monumentalplus.com, or by downloading the state-of-the-art Monumental+ app on iOS, Android, Apple TV, Chromecast, DIRECTV, Fire TV, Roku, Samsung, X1, and Xfinity Xumo, and using an eligible TV Everywhere log-in or signing up for an MNMT membership.
MSE, its teams and the Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation (MSEF) have a longstanding commitment to supporting animal welfare and pet adoption initiatives throughout the region. Through original content, community programming, fundraising efforts and partnerships with animal welfare organizations, MSE uses the power of sports and storytelling to raise awareness and create meaningful impact for adoptable pets and service animal programs.
The Capitals have further advanced these efforts through a variety of animal welfare initiatives. These include an annual Caps Canines calendar benefiting Wolf Trap Animal Rescue and Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation, partnerships with America’s VetDogs to support service dog training and placement, and the Caps Canines Club and Caps Canines Night presented by PEDIGREE, which promote pet adoption and animal welfare causes throughout the year.
