Boys and girls high school basketball showcase on April 4 will be available to fans throughout DMV region on MNMT and Monumental+
MSE Foundation to donate $25,000 to support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington
Washington, D.C. (March 2, 2026) – Monumental Sports Network (MNMT) announced today that the network will air the 53rd year of the Hoop Culture Capital Classic presented by Events DC on Saturday, April 4, 2026. The Capital Classic, The Game That Started It All!, is one of the most prestigious high school basketball All-American games in the nation, bringing together the next generation of basketball superstars for a showcase between the best players in the DMV region versus the best players throughout the rest of the United States.
For the first time since 2017, this year’s event will be played at Capital One Arena – the marquee basketball venue which is home to the NBA’s Washington Wizards and NCAA’s Georgetown Men’s Basketball and operated by Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE). The broadcast will begin at 10:30 AM with the Vicki Brick-Zupancic DMV Girls All-Star Game, featuring the top high school girls basketball talent from the D.C. and Baltimore area, and will conclude with the Boys Capital Classic Game at 12:00 PM, featuring the Capital All Stars and U.S. All Stars.

2026 DMV Girls All-Stars Roster – coming soon
The Vicki Brick-Zupancic DMV Girls All-Star Game will benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance, while the Boys Capital Classic Game will support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington – including a $25,000 contribution from the MSE Foundation to support the organization’s youth basketball program – reflecting a shared commitment to leveraging the game’s historic platform to support meaningful community causes. By partnering with the Capital Classic Youth Foundation—the nonprofit arm of the Capital Classic, which has committed $50,000, beneficiaries can raise awareness and rally community support, creating a lasting impact in the lives of young children.
The Capital Classic is the latest addition to a robust 2025-26 high school basketball slate on MNMT. At the end of 2025, MSE announced Monumental Varsity, a new umbrella platform that elevates and unifies all high school sports programming across the organization – anchored by its expansive basketball initiatives led by Monumental Basketball and MNMT. The platform brings together signature events, such as “Basketball Day in the DMV”, to strengthen MSE’s deep investment in celebrating DMV-area student athletes, expanding access to sports industry opportunities, and deepening MSE’s presence in the local high school athletics community.
