Senior Vice President of Ticket Operations Chris Sheap wins Unsung Hero Award; President of Venues Jordan Silberman named to prestigious Leaders Under 40 List
Washington, D.C. (September 30, 2025) – Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE) has won multiple 2025 Leaders Sports Awards honors that recognize exceptional organizations and individuals in the global sports industry. The honors highlight MSE’s continued commitment to innovation, creativity, and operational excellence across its teams, venues, and media platforms.
Chris Sheap, MSE Senior Vice President of Ticket Operations, was presented with the Unsung Hero Award that honors behind-the-scenes leaders that are helping to shape a sports organization away from the spotlight.
Chris was recognized for his work overseeing ticketing for all events at Capital One Arena, which has helped more than 3 million fans experience the excitement and energy of live events every year – totaling more than 20 million fans served over his 20-year MSE tenure. In addition to his regular duties, his tireless work helped 150,000+ fans experience special once-in-a-lifetime moments over the 2024-25 season, including Alex Ovechkin’s GR8 CHASE of the NHL scoring record; back-to-back Presidential inauguration events; and the Legacy on Ice figure skating benefit event. He has also led MSE’s charitable ticket donations to organizations including VetTix and Tickets for Kids.
Jordan Silberman, President of Venues for MSE, was also named to the prestigious 2025 Leaders Under 40 list, which recognizes exceptional individuals under 40 who have moved the sports industry forward over the past 12 months.
Jordan has played a central role in leading the $800 million+ transformation of MSE’s brand-new arena in downtown Washington, D.C. The youngest ever in this role in the organization’s history, Jordan runs an operation that spans not only Capital One Arena, the home of the NBA’s Washington Wizards, NHL’s Washington Capitals, Georgetown men’s basketball, and numerous other world-class concerts and third party events, but also the entire portfolio of facilities managed under MSE’s umbrella. Jordan has played a major role in solidifying Capital One Arena as the epicenter of sports and entertainment in the mid-Atlantic region, which Pollstar consistently ranks among the top 10 busiest arenas in the U.S. and among the 20 busiest in the world.
MSE was also named shortlisted for two additional categories in this year’s Leaders Sports Awards:
THE GR8 CHASE presented by Venture Global placed third in the Media/Broadcast category, which recognizes a leading media or broadcast organization in professional sports.
