32 Mystics games and new magazine show will air on Monumental Sports Network this summer
Washington, D.C. (April 17, 2024) – The Washington Mystics and Monumental Sports Network (MNMT) announced today that local fans will be able to watch 32 of the team’s 40 games on the regional media platform during the upcoming WNBA season. The first game available to fans on Monumental Sports Network will be the team’s season opener on Tuesday, May 14 against the New York Liberty. Remaining games will be broadcast nationally on CBS, ESPN, and ION Television.
New this season, Monumental Sports Network will produce a Mystics-focused monthly magazine show that features the best behind-the-scenes moments and off-court stories with players, staff, and Mystics fans. MNMT is proud to be the leader in WNBA telecasts by continuing to offer Mystics gameday programs – Mystics Pregame Live and Mystics Postgame Live – to provide informative team analysis and commentary for 30 minutes before and after each game on the network. Both programs will be broadcast live from MNMT’s recently opened state-of-the-art broadcast studios, with Wes Hall returning as host and Chasity Melvin returning as the primary analyst. Last season, the Mystics became the first WNBA team to feature a dedicated pre and postgame show for every regional game broadcast.
“Building off an incredible few months for women’s basketball, we are delighted to provide sports fans in the DMV region a platform to watch the world’s top players on a regular basis,” said Friday Abernethy, General Manager, Monumental Sports Network. “Our network has made a concerted effort to promote women’s sports across a variety of leagues and levels, from high school to the pros, and we can’t wait for the upcoming WNBA season to begin.”
The Mystics game broadcast booth will feature University of Maryland Hall of Famer Christy Winters-Scott, who returns for her 15th season as color analyst for the Mystics, and play-by-play announcer Meghan McPeak, who enters her sixth season with the team.
