Washington, D.C. – Today, Team Liquid, one of the largest esports brands across the globe, and District E Powered by Ticketmaster, the new esports and entertainment venue from Monumental Sports & Entertainment, announced a partnership to host East Coast viewing parties for the team’s journey through the 2023 Summer Split of the North American League Championship Series (LCS), the flagship league for professional League of Legends (LoL) Esports.
Team Liquid will compete against nine other franchises in its quest for a fifth LCS title and to qualify for League of Legends Worlds 2023 in South Korea. The first viewing party will be held on June 15 at 7PM ET with Team Liquid pitted against 100 Thieves. Viewing parties will follow the Team Liquid schedule to include nearly 20 matches.
“I was raised in the DMV, and I feel so much joy seeing my two loves, my hometown and my favorite game, come together in District E,” said Steve Arhancet, Team Liquid’s Co-CEO. “It’s a top-notch venue in a brilliant location, and I can’t wait to hang out with other League of Legends fans. Our players will come to visit for meet-and-greets and AMAs with fans at the venue, so make sure to follow District E and Team Liquid for updates on our schedule.”
For each event, spectators can look forward to immersive views of the live match with expert commentary and Q&A sessions with Team Liquid players and staff, in addition to Team Liquid merch giveaways. District E will also offer food and drink specials at the venue’s restaurant and bar, District Bites.
“We are excited to offer the first of many opportunities for fans of Team Liquid and LCS to gather in person to watch some of the most elite LoL players in the world compete,” said Zach Leonsis, President of Media and New Enterprises at Monumental Sports & Entertainment. “Our vision for our state-of-the-art venue was to create the best esports viewing experience in the region, and as committed gaming supporters and long-time investors in Team Liquid, we’re looking forward to bringing the esports community together at District E each week.”
District E serves as the East Coast satellite office for Team Liquid. The space includes a dedicated scrimmage and competition area for the internationally known team to maintain the highest quality gaming experience when they are competing in this time zone.
