Wizards District Gaming Garners League Honors at 2022 NBA 2K League All-Star

Dayfri voted Most Valuable Player and Defensive Player of the Year and B Rich wins Play of the Year; WDG awarded Fan Engagement honors

Washington, DC – Wizards District Gaming Center Ryan “Dayfri” Conger was named the NBA 2K League 2022 Most Valuable Player and Defensive Player of the Year. Brandon “B Rich” Richardson was recognized for having the Play of the Year and the team also captured the Fan Engagement Award. Wizards District Gaming is the NBA 2K League affiliate of the Washington Wizards and owned by Monumental Sports & Entertainment.

As one of the original 102 players chosen for the 2K League at its inaugural draft in 2018, Dayfri showed flashes of 2K expertise from the beginning of his professional career. His style of play combines dynamic defensive maneuvers and strategic offensive sets, all while serving as a calm and commanding leader for his teammates on and off the game. In five seasons, Conger’s league resume includes back-to-back Championships in 2020 and 2021, and Finals appearances in both 3v3 and 5v5 in 2022, in addition to repeat selections as an Eastern Conference All-Star (2021,2022) and being named Finals MVP in 2020. The Texas native is widely recognized by teammates, opponents, media, fans and league officials as one of the best 2K league players in the world, earning him dual recognition as the NBA 2K League’s Defensive Player of the Year and Most Valuable Player for 2022.

B Rich took home the NBA 2K League’s Play of the Year honors for his game-winning basket against Knicks Gaming in the Quarterfinals of The Turn on June 10. With Wizards District Gaming trailing by a point with just seconds remaining in the decisive game of the best-of-three series, B Rich drained a pull-up jumper from the mid-range as time expired to advance to the semifinals of The Turn.

Wizards District Gaming also received the Fan Engagement Award which recognizes the team that demonstrates outstanding fan engagement through community service, local business initiatives or social media. As the only organization in the league with multiple Finals appearances, WDG’s players and staff are intentional about bringing fans along for the journey each season by sharing in-game and behind the scenes visuals and opportunities to engage with the team. Interviews with local and national media outlets, in addition to multi-platform updates shared through social media profiles on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Twitch offer fans direct access to the team.

Annually, the end-of-season honors are decided on by players, team managers, media, on-air talent, fans and NBA 2K League officials and awarded to players and organizations that dominated the competition all year long.
