Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation Relaunches 50/50 Raffle with New Online Platform and Expanded Eligibility

MSE 50/50 Raffle

Once exclusive to game-day attendees at Capital One Arena, 50/50 raffle now to be available to any fan present in D.C. during Capitals and Wizards home games

Washington, D.C. (September 24, 2021) – Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE), which owns and operates the Washington Capitals, Wizards, Mystics, and Capital One Arena, today announced that its MSE Foundation will host the popular 50/50 raffle for all home games during the 2021-22 seasons for the Capitals and Wizards using a new online platform.

The first online 50/50 raffle will take place during the Capitals preseason game vs. the Bruins on Sunday, September 26, opening at 4 p.m. and closing at 7:15 p.m. The first Wizards online 50/50 raffle will take place during their preseason game against the Knicks on Saturday, October 9, opening at 6 p.m. and closing at 8:30 p.m.

Raffle tickets will be sold online at: www.monumentalfoundation.org/5050

In partnership with Ascend Fundraising Solutions, the MSE Foundation received licenses from the D.C. Office of Lottery and Gaming to open raffle ticket sales to any fan present in the District of Columbia during live home games for the Capitals and Wizards. This gives more fans an opportunity to play and win cash prizes and allows the MSE Foundation to advance its charitable work.

Tickets will go on sale an hour before the listed game time and will be sold for 2.25 hours after the listed game time for Capitals games and 1.5 hours after the listed game time for Wizards games. The Winning Ticket Numbers will be announced at Capital One Arena and posted on the in-arena video board during the 3rd period at Capitals games and the 4th quarter at Wizards games. They will also be posted on the MSE Foundation Twitter account and at www.monumentalfoundation.org/5050.

In the 50/50 raffle, tickets are sold and collected and then one ticket is drawn to receive half (or 50%) of the total jackpot collected while the other half (50%) goes to the MSE Foundation for its charitable efforts. The total amount of the jackpot varies based on the total number of tickets sold. Tickets are sold in the following increments: 3 tickets for $5, 10 tickets for $10 and 60 tickets for $20. The online platform accepts debit and credit cards as payment.

The MSE Foundation uses the bulk of its proceeds to reinvest in community efforts throughout the year and supports nonprofits around D.C., Virginia and Maryland doing the vital work of advancing shared prosperity throughout the region. To date, the MSE Foundation has raised nearly $1.25 million through Capitals and Wizards 50/50 raffles for its work.

Raffle participants must be 18 years of age or older and must be physically present within the borders of the District when purchasing tickets; however, they need not be District residents. For full information on the rules and procedures, please visit: www.monumentalfoundation.org/5050
