“The pace of innovation and existing trends within the business of sports, entertainment, and media accelerated over the past twelve months – and many unforeseen opportunities have arisen as well, which are changing the landscape for fans and the numerous stakeholders across sports,” said Zach Leonsis, Senior Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at Monumental Sports & Entertainment. “This collaboration with SportTechie allows us to bring together the best and brightest thought leaders and executives to discuss new revenue models and investment opportunities all focused on the same fundamental pursuit: incredible fan experiences.”

Together, Monumental and SportTechie are organizing executives and thought leaders to discuss the most important trends in the sports industry. The Sports Capital Symposium will provide a platform for leagues, teams, partners, vendors, innovators, and investors to come together and share big ideas while allowing all attendees and participants to build meaningful relationships. See highlights from last year’s inaugural event here.

Featured speakers for 2021 include: Roham Gharegozlou, CEO, Dapper Labs; Rohit Gupta, Chief Product Officer, Andbox; Daniel Medina, Chief of Athlete Care & Performance, Monumental Sports & Entertainment; Dev Sethi, Head of Sports, Instagram; Michael Spirito, Founding Partner & Lead Investor, Sapphire Sport.

“The single biggest trend to come out of the last twelve months in the sports industry has been ‘innovation acceleration’. Teams, leagues, and companies were forced to be nimble and accelerate their business road maps. This has led to a tremendous amount of new monetization strategies, emerging investment opportunities and new trends that will soon become the norm. And this is exactly why Sports Capital Symposium exists: to live at that intersection of monetization and innovation in sports and to keep attendees ahead of the curve,” said Taylor Bloom, SportTechie CEO. “Monumental Sports & Entertainment is the perfect partner to collaborate with to build such an important event and we are thrilled to be putting together another must-attend Sports Capital Symposium for our industry.”

The event organizers have teamed up with World Central Kitchen (WCK) to be their dedicated nonprofit partner for the Sports Capital Symposium. WCK uses the power of food to nourish communities and strengthen economies in times of crisis and beyond. WCK has created a new model for disaster response through its work helping devastated communities recover and establish resilient food systems. WCK has served more than 50 million fresh meals to people impacted by natural disasters and other crises around the world in countries including The Bahamas, Indonesia, Lebanon, Mozambique, Venezuela, and the United States. Symposium registrants are asked to donate to this great cause in lieu of paying for a conference ticket. Donations may be made here.
