Monumental Sports & Entertainment to Offer Fan Cutouts at Capital One Arena for Wizards and Capitals Home Games in the 2020-21 Season

A portion of the proceeds from sales will benefit the Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation which supports community nonprofits throughout D.C., Virginia, and Maryland

Fans of the Washington Wizards and the Washington Capitals looking to show their team pride will have the option for a virtual presence in Capital One Arena for the start of the 2020-21 season and be “on hand” for home games for all Wizards and Capitals games, Monumental Sports & Entertainment announced today.

The limited number of fan cutouts are on sale now for $75 each through www.monumentalsports.com/fancutouts. Capital One cardholders will receive a special discount upon checkout. Fans can upload their photo from their phone or computer through the web link, will be asked to sign an image-use waiver, and then the cutouts will automatically be delivered to Capital One Arena.

“Washington Wizards and Capitals fans have helped to create the best home court and home ice advantages in all of professional sports which have propelled our teams to victory,” said Jim Van Stone, President of Business Operation and Chief Commercial Officer, Monumental Sports & Entertainment. “While COVID-19 protocols prohibit our ability to open the arena to live fans at the start of the season, we wanted to honor their importance to our game and our athletes. With a portion of the proceeds benefiting Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation, not only will fans be supporting our teams – they will also be supporting our community.”

Cutouts – which may feature a person or a pet – will be on display across Capital One Arena and visible on the second screen experience, be featured on social media channels and may even make an appearance in game! Orders will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Fans will not have the option to select their own seats.

Fans can order today to have their image submitted and approved to appear for the Wizards game on January 9, 2021 and for the first Capitals home game of the 2020-21 season on January 22, 2021. All orders submitted moving forward will be placed on a bi-weekly schedule.

A portion of the proceeds from the cutouts will go to the Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation, which supports community nonprofit gamechangers doing extraordinary community work in D.C., Virginia, and Maryland.
