Weekly program featuring Jeff Marek and Bruce Boudreau launches October 27; premiere episode to feature interview with Alex Ovechkin
WASHINGTON, D.C. (October 20, 2025) — Monumental Sports Network (MNMT) announced today the launch of The Hockey Lifers with Marek and Boudreau, a new weekly video podcast hosted by well-known NHL voice Jeff Marek and legendary former Washington Capitals coach Bruce Boudreau. Premiering Monday, Oct. 27, the show will release new episodes year-round every Monday afternoon. Episode one will focus on the start of the 2025-26 Capitals season and Alex Ovechkin’s pursuit of 900 career goals, featuring an exclusive interview with the NHL’s all-time goal-scoring leader. Fans can watch the show on the Monumental+ streaming app and other major podcast platforms.
Blending insightful hockey analysis, fascinating storytelling, and candid conversation, The Hockey Lifers offers a unique perspective on the game through the lens of two of its most passionate personalities. The show is crafted for Capitals fans and will feature discussion on topical Capitals storylines, but will also dive into broader NHL topics and feature prominent guests from across the sports world.

Jeff Marek, a veteran Canadian broadcaster and one of the most knowledgeable voices in hockey media, brings a wide-ranging perspective and sharp historical context. Marek currently hosts The Sheet on Daily Faceoff. With a career that began in radio and evolved through platforms like Hockey Night in Canada for CBC and Thursday Night Hockey, Friday Night Hockey, and Hockey Central Saturday for Sportsnet, Marek is known for his encyclopedic knowledge of the sport and engaging storytelling.
