Traffic Alert: Open Streets Program Road Closure May Impact Fans Driving to Saturday’s Capitals Game

Fans driving to Saturday evening’s Washington Capitals game at Capital One Arena are advised to allow extra travel time and consider alternative routes due to the 7th Street closure as part of the District’s Open Streets program. The Capitals are scheduled to host the Boston Bruins in preseason action at 5:00 p.m.

The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) has announced that 7th Street NW from Rhode Island Avenue to E Street NW will be closed for significant portions of the day, with 7th Street south of New York Ave. NW opening at 2 PM ahead of that night’s game to allow traffic to access Capital One Arena.
