Updates and upgrades for the arena as it welcomes back full capacity crowds at concerts and events and the NBA and NHL seasons begin
Washington, D.C. – October 13, 2021 – Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE) has readied Capital One Arena for full capacity crowds to return for concerts, events and sports and today shared all of the updates and upgrades which fans can expect. The COVID-19 pandemic forced the closure of the arena for more than a year and was open in a severely limited fashion during the spring of 2021. With events starting this past fall and full capacity fans returning to the arena, MSE is excited to welcome back fans, while focusing on their health and safety with some updated practices for an enhanced in-venue experience for fans.
“We’re excited to invite all fans back to join us at Capital One Arena, but even more importantly, we’re ready for fans to do so efficiently,” said Jordan Silberman, General Manager, Capital One Arena. “We’ve doubled down on cleaning protocols and introducing new ways to get fans into the arena and back to having fun together.”
Bag Policy: Bags, backpacks and purses will not be permitted inside the Arena. Wallet-size clutches no larger than 5″ x 7″ and medical bags and parenting bags no larger than 14″ x 14″ x 6″ will be permitted. All bags permitted are subject to security screening. A Bag Check is now available for patrons whose bags do not meet the above requirements. The Bag Check is located near the corner of 6th and F Street. Space is limited and a fee of $15 per bag will apply.
Touchless Ticket Scanners: New touchless ticket scanners will soon be available for visitors to seamlessly enter the arena after scanning their digital ticket. Each game or event ticket will be provided in a digital format.
Touchless Pay: All guests are encouraged to use touchless payment methods for concessions, the Team Store and vendors throughout the concourse. Using contactless payment is a fast, safe, and secure way to pay. Pay with your Capital One card, any major debit or credit card, or Apple Pay for any food in Capital One Arena. All concession stands have cashless/no-touch options for payment through smartphone apps and credit card payments.
Team Store: Now open 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The store will stay open throughout all home games and will open 2 hours before game time for Sunday and Monday games.
