Monica Dixon has been promoted to president of External Affairs and chief administrative officer at MSE and Bob Schneider is named chief of staff to MSE Chairman & CEO Ted Leonsis

Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE) Founder, Chairman, Principal Partner and CEO Ted Leonsis announced today the promotion of two staff amongst his executive team. Monica Dixon has been promoted to president of External Affairs and chief administrative officer at MSE while Bob Schneider has been named chief of staff to Leonsis. Both Dixon and Schneider will report directly to Mr. Leonsis.

“At a company-wide meeting last fall, I made a sincere commitment to our entire organization for MSE to become the most valuable, most impactful, most socially responsible, world-class, championship sports and entertainment brand in the world,” said Leonsis. “I believe these well-deserved promotions and staffing changes will better position our organization to achieve this goal as we continue to raise the game in sports and entertainment.”

Ms. Dixon will now lead all MSE’s corporate initiatives, including branding, communications, community relations, government affairs and shareholder relations. She will additionally oversee MSE’s corporate social responsibility and philanthropic efforts and will work alongside Leonsis and the MSE executive team on resource allocation, corporate priorities and strategic planning. Ms. Dixon has also been named chairman of the Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation and all related programs. She will additionally continue to assist Leonsis on other special projects.

In October 2019, Dixon hired two stellar additions to the MSE staff to lead two newly created departments within the company. Anu Rangappa joined MSE as vice president of Social Impact and Chanell Autrey is senior director of Government and Community Affairs at MSE.

Ms. Dixon previously served as executive vice president & chief of staff at MSE in which she managed strategic planning and project management across the organization. Dixon joined MSE in 2015 after serving in senior leadership roles on a range of national and regional political campaigns, for the Democratic caucus in the U.S. House of Representatives and on Washington, D.C.’s bid for the 2024 Olympic Games. Dixon also served as deputy chief of staff to Vice President Al Gore.

In his new role, Mr. Schneider will be tasked with refocusing Leonsis’ schedule to better align with MSE’s corporate goals and to bridge greater collaboration across his other major investments, including Revolution, aXiomatic and Team Liquid, the Leonsis Family Office and Leonsis Foundation; as well as his sports-related film projects and sports technology investments.

Mr. Schneider previously served as executive scheduler and deputy chief of staff for Leonsis. Prior to joining MSE in 2018, Schneider served as director of operations for Representative Niki Tsongas.
