Jeff Skoll is an entrepreneur devoted to creating a sustainable world of peace and prosperity for all.

As founder of the Jeff Skoll Group, he created an innovative portfolio of philanthropic and commercial enterprises which includes the Skoll Foundation, Capricorn Investment Group, and Participant Media.  Each is a distinctive lever for achieving transformational social change.

Jeff is also cofounder of The Rise Fund, a global impact fund investing in entrepreneurial companies driving measurable, positive social and environmental change in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals.  As the first full-time employee and President of eBay, Jeff experienced firsthand the power of combining entrepreneurship, technology, and trust in people.

Jeff was born and raised in Canada where he nurtured his love of hockey and sports.  He has received numerous global honors including the Carnegie Medal of Philanthropy, the Stanford Graduate School of Business’ Ernest C. Arbuckle Award, and the S. Roger Horchow Award for Outstanding Public Service by a Private Citizen.  He joined the Giving Pledge in 2010 and was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2012.
